I am basing the following on what I saw on the two blogs referenced on the assignment.
Not sure if we are supposed to incorporate a design layout into this question but that seems difficult to do in Word or powerpoint. I tried starting a blog for this purpose, but could not figure out how to add tabs and gave up due to time constraints.
We should come up with a slogan such as “A great place to relax” that we can post underneath the café’s name.
Tabs for areas of interest at the top of the blog: About Café Broadway New Ideas Articles and Reviews Music Center Art Gallery Book Clubs Coffee Sampler Community Events Brewing Courses Followers
Similar to what the Arizona Coffee Shop site does, have a row of pictures/links to advertise our sponsors and business partners.
Have a search box for users to locate things on our blog.
In addition to what Rob has posted to be included on our web site, I would add: “Jobs” and “Contact Us” link.
Since we are going to have all these separate sections, music, books, etc. I would rather include blogs under each one of those tabs separately. Or, on our main page, have one link that says “blogs”, and then when people click on it they can access different topics and pictures like the Arizona coffee place did, except theirs was listed in the home page and I just thought it was a bit disorganized.
I would also add something like “Employees corner” that will have blog only used by employees and closed to the public. This is where we would keep up with the internal news, changes in the structure of the coffee, new employees, ideas, complaints, maybe even include some numbers such as: gains and losses in our revenue comparing to the last month…just to let every employee know where we stand. Are the coffee or breakfast sales up? What happens to be selling the best in summer or winter time? Etc.
Ok here it is for prototype - we could do it on blogger or on wordpress. Personally I would prefer word press but have to download the latest version. Since it is a assignment let me stick with blogger.
